Hi Susan,

I have looked through all my files but I cant find Baby Glew, if you phone Barnsley Hospital and ask to speak to the Bereavement Nurse she will look through the files and see where your baby was taken after birth.

Hi Susan,

There were No Infants buried in Grimethorpe Cemetery in 1987, I have looked through the Cremation Register but I cant find your baby, contact Barnsley Hospital they will still have your records.

Hi Susan,

Just had an idea where your baby was taken, phone Ardsley Crematorium on 01226 206053 and ask Margaret if she will check the Foetal Register for your baby, this register completely slipped my mind.

Hi Levina,

I have searched the Cemetery data and the Stillborn Register for Ardsley, Barnsley and Monk Bretton, also I have searched Hoyland St Peters Churchyard, the only stillborn for Arthur Heeley was in 1904.
Can you let me know your parents address when the baby was born.

Peter

Hi Peter, My mum says the baby must have been born between 1947-1951 and it was a girl. Would have been my mums sister. Celia and arthur lived on Grace street Barnsley. Celia and Arthur were my grandparents.
Kind regards
Levina

Hi Levinia,

I have looked through all the burials for 1947-1951 and there are no stillborn babies by the name of Heeley. Sorry Love.

Hi Peter, Do you think the it is likely that the baby was cremated at Ardsley crematorium? if so would they still hold a record of this?
Thank you for all your help.

Hi Levinia,

No Love, Cremations at Ardsley didn't start until 1962, You could check with the Registra's Office in Barnsley Town Hall, they should have a record of the baby's birth and death, one of these may give you some indication of what happened to the baby.
